The idea was sparked by a news story Ryan read: a woman trying to hire a hitman to "off" her husband's mistress. The FBI posed as hitmen-for-hire in a sting operation to thwart the attempt, but the idea that people think it's a real process... was hilariously intriguing; but what if it was real? Still clandestine, yet something akin to a calling center like any other tech company, except they hire out assassins. Then we thought about the monotony and possible burn out that would occur in such a job dealing with the sterile purchase of 'death'. This mixed with the idea of selling one's soul to the corporation took on a funny macabre meaning for us, and Lynn started writing out some ideas. The end result we feel is a dark lens that echos societies close ties with violence and our self-destruction with regards to work-life balance. Even in their home Brad and Tom-Tom still have a window into violence albeit in a tongue and cheek manner as more of a throwback to our action stars of the 1980s. Wholly fun project to create and we are hopeful to develop this into a streaming series.
